New England Section of the American Urological Association (NEAUA)
May 2019 Issue

Greetings Section members! I hope you are planning to join us at the 2019 New England Section Annual Meeting in Providence, Rhode Island, September 12-14, 2019. The meeting will be held at the Omni Providence which is part of the Rhode Island Convention Center and within walking distance to many of Providence’s wonderful local attractions. Providence combines the accessibility and friendliness of a small town with the culture and sophistication of a big city, and I am so proud to host the meeting there, my hometown. With a thriving arts community, vibrant and diverse neighborhoods, and a renowned restaurant scene, Providence offers something for everyone to enjoy! More

Last year, the Board of Directors of the NE-AUA, authorized a new program: Corporate Membership. This program is in its inaugural year in 2019. I am pleased to recognize our three corporate members for this year: Genomic Health, Pfizer Oncology, and Johnson and Johnson/Janssen. More

The New England Section Education Fund was created to support NEAUA educational activities in future years. Given recent changes seen in healthcare, politics and industry and knowing there will be more change in the future, the NEAUA leadership established the Fund as a way to ensure longevity of Section education regardless of the landscape. The Section is on its way towards its targeted goal of $500,000, and contributions from the membership will go directly towards the intent of the Education Fund and support educational activity for all members. For the smallest of all the Sections, New England has always been and continues to be one of the strongest.
