2018 NEAUA Health Policy Essay Competition
The New England Section will again sponsor the travel of up to two urology residents or fellows to attend the 2018 AUA Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC through its annual Health Policy Essay Competition. Essay submissions should be on a health care topic relevant to the contemporary practice of urology. Winning essays and post-Summit reports from each funded participant will be published in the Section newsletter. Winning authors should also consider submitting their work to Urology Practice for publication. The deadline for essays is Monday, January 1, 2018.

AUA Board of Directors Update

AUA Leadership Program: Now Accepting Applications
The AUA Leadership Program identifies urologists who have demonstrated effective leadership skills within organized medicine or the community. Since 2004, the AUA and its Sections have sought applicants who are driven to tackle future roles of responsibility within the AUA and the Sections in which they practice. This is a call for younger AUA members to polish their leadership skills, take advantage of networking opportunities and become better acquainted with AUA and Sectional programs and services. The deadline for applications in December 31, 2017.

Urology Care Foundation Summer Medical Student Fellowships
Urology Care Foundation Summer Medical Student Fellowships are designed to attract high-caliber medical students to urologic research by engaging them in summer research fellowships alongside world-class urologic scientists. Awardees receive $4,000 stipends to support them during a ten-week mentored research experience. The application deadline is 5:00PM Eastern time on January 11, 2018.
