The NEAUA FUTURE in Urology Program is an incubator for rising 2nd and 3rd medical students from all demographic backgrounds who are dedicated to increasing the urology workforce and supporting equitable health care. It is designed to encourage these students to consider a career in urology. It will provide opportunities to network, develop longitudinal relationships, and cultivate diverse interest in our specialty. The program is facilitated during the Section’s Annual Meeting.
Medical students from each state in New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont) will be selected to participate based on their applications, receive up to $1,500 in reimbursement for travel and lodging support, and complimentary NEAUA Annual Meeting registration. Each mentee will be paired with at last one (1) Active member Mentor for the 2025 Annual Meeting in Boston.
To be considered for participation in the NEAUA FUTURE Mentorship Program, rising 2nd and 3rd medical students should apply at the application below and submit a brief statement of interest, their current exposure to Urology, and their level of access to a network of urologic mentors at their institution. The Section will review each statement of interest and select medical students to participate. Applications will be accepted through July 15, 2025.
This program is supported by Boston Scientific in 2025.
The 2024 FUTURE in Urology Mentorship Program provided mentorship to 10 medical students with at least one student from each state in New England. Thank you to Boston Scientific for its support of the FUTURE in Urology program in 2024!
