During my 1 hour that became 6 hour flight returning from Washington, DC and the Joint Advocacy Conference meeting this past March, I was left to ponder much of what was discussed as ‘interesting times in medicine and health care’. Suffice it to say, many of us who are privileged enough to be on the front lines of health care delivery are left to agree completely that times are indeed very interesting as the health care system as we know it has changed and will continue to. AUA Research Forum – Section Rep Dr. Richard Lee

Dr. Richard Lee at Boston Children’s Hospital, nominated by the Section Board of Directors to serve as Section Rep during the 2013 AUA Research Forum, has been selected by the AUA Research Council to present his research, Early Validation of Urinary Biomarkers of Renal Obstruction, at the Forum in San Diego this coming May! The Research Forum will be held Sunday, May 5 from 3:00 to 5:30 PM in Room 2 at the San Diego Convention Center. The 8th Annual Joint Advocacy Conference (JAC) was held March 10th-12th in Washington, D.C. The meeting typically has 140-150 attendees from across the country. New England Section representation has always been amongst the minority. In an effort to increase the Section representation, The Socio Economic Committee of the NEAUA recommended to the Board of Directors that the Section consider sending all state representatives to the JAC.
